    Firefox and htm files

I cannot open web pages with the extension .htm in Firefox. They are treated as files instead of web pages.  I have spent the last 3 hours searching every forum immaginable for an answer. My shozam pages work fine with IE7 but not with FF because everything has the htm extension.  It seems as though FF is not recognizing the htm mime type as text/html like it should.  I have the latest version of FF installed.  Any help would be appreciated.  The Opera browser also does not work. Does the same thing as FF.

    Thanks,

    V. Ingram

     Shozam is not your problem.

I use FF as my primary browser and never have a problem with .htm extensions.  Opera works fine as well.

Your settings are screwed up somewhere for those browsers or a gremlin has invaded your computer.

Post a link so those of us with FF can view it to see if it works for us.

    Re: Firefox and htm files

    Hi,

Thanks for responding, Cowboy.   Yes, I never did think it was Shozam but I was looking for help anywhere.  As it turns out the culprit was an  .htaccess security file on the server where I stored the application and the files that prevented the htm pages from opening with Firefox and Opera.  Once I removed that, everything was fine.

I just downloaded Shozam and am only using the trial version right now.  So far I like it and may purchase the business version.  One problem is that it regenerates everything even if you only make a small change.  I understand they are working on that now though.

    Thanks again,

    V. Ingram

Server gremlins can be just as nasty.

    Glad you found the problem.

I use the Business Edition and am more then happy with it.  The added ability to insert HTML custom code was worth it plus I need to meet the license legalese for multiple url's.
