    Right Click Disabled not working

I have a gallery for a artist client and need right click disabled. I selected disable for the gallery, but when you right click on an image, you get the copywrite notice - BUT THEN, when you click OK, the regular right click menu comes up. Help, I need to resolve this ASAP.

     Thanks,
    John

Re: Right Click Disabled not working

The Right Click Disabled is working fine in FF3, IE7 and SFW.  It doesn't bypass when I click OK.

There are the red X image place holders next to your Add to Cart buttons for some reason when vewed with IE7.  They are not there in FF3 and SFW.

    Cowboy,

I'm running IE 7.0.6000.16681 and get the bypass to the regular right click menu after clicking OK. My add to cart images are all showing up fine. FF2 seems fine. Any ideas?

Re: Right Click Disabled not working

     John,

I have never seen a right click disabled script bypassed like you describe.

Just guessing, but you may have some kind of admin setting screwy that is affecting your server, os and Shozam.  Your browser is telling you of the right click being disabled but then allows you to access the right click menu because you have admin privileges.

It may be something to do with the below setting.  This setting will completely render a right click disabled useless in IE6 and IE7:

       1. Click “Tools”->”Internet Options”
       2. Click the “Security” tab.
       3. Click “Custom Level”
       4. Scroll down to the “scripting” section.
       5. Set “Active Scripting” to “disable”.
       6. Click “Ok”. Restart your internet browser.

This will disable the Javascript from being rendered by your Internet Explorer browser which would mean the right click disabled’s script in the website will not work anymore.

Fortunately, most users have no idea to do this.

On the red x thing, below is a screenshot.  It is not only your site but other Shozam galleries so it is probably something to do with my settings.

Now, some bad news.  I tried your cart in IE7 and got the message (screenshot) below:

    http://www.ohiowebs.net/images/forum/paypal.jpg

Tells me you are not an approved shopping cart user.  Can't blame this one on my settings because I didn't get it on other Shozam users galleries using IE7.  Worked fine in FF3.

No idea why that is happening.

Re: Right Click Disabled not working

    Cowboy,

Thanks for checking this out. The paypal issue should be resolved. When I first posted, my client had yet to give me his paypal email, so it was not fully set up.

On the right click problem, I double checked my scripting and it is set properly to enable. I also looked at the script Shozam generated for the gallery and, of course, it seems correct. Could this be an IE7 issue that I'm not going to be able to resolve?

Re: Right Click Disabled not working

     John,

Try going to another computer that is running IE and see what happens.  If the function is OK on their computer, then most likely the problem lies somewhere within your settings that is causing it.  As far as figuring out what exactly is causing it, that may take some research in IE forums.

You could also try going to someone else's gallery that is running with the right click disabled and see if the same thing happens. If it doesn't happen then it probably has something to do with your admin and server settings.

Re: Right Click Disabled not working

    Cowboy,

I've checked several of the galleries in the forum and, after getting the copywrite notice and clicking OK, got the regular right click menu. this happened on Rondayvous, KarenKlein, JulieSinclair, and KathyHancock. The right click disable worked properly on PrimeTimeBulldogs and EduardoFranchi. This makes no sense to me. I'll try on different computers on Monday.
