    Something funny is going on....

My computer and I are recovering from a very serious problem. I have had to uninstall and reinstall everything! I don't know if this current problem is a result of that or not?

With Shozam I create single property website's for realtors. One of my clients has just emailed and asked that I change the price and one of the pictures on the site I've created.

I went into Shozam changed those things and ftp'd it to my site....I did everything as I normally do. When I type in the address to view it on the internet, it is still showing the old price and the photo that I removed. I've actually removed all this stuff twice now, and it still shows up....even though, when I view the files from the generate page, the picture is gone...??? I'm so confused. Help....

Linda, your description points to an issue with your Upload Preset in Step 6 of Shozam. Basically you are not uploading your gallery at the correct location. Review your Preset settings and make sure to do the Test Connection and Test View. Look at the timestamp on the test page to ensure that you are indeed viewing the same test page that you just uploaded.

Whoa, now I'm really confused.Tongue Tied

When I upload a new site, I don't go to step 6. I generate, then close the program. Then I go to coreftp lite, where all the information about servers, username, password etc is. And I upload from there. I've done it this way for a year now....and I don't remember if I ever entered any info into step 6 at all???

Shozam galleries do not require you to upload files using the built-in Shozam FTP uploader in Step 6. You can use any FTP program you like or are familiar with.

First force a refresh of the cache by clicking Ctrl+F5 in the browser or deleting all temporary Internet files. If the problem persists, delete the gallery from the server and upload all files again.

If the issue still shows, then there is no other explanation but that you are not uploading to the correct location.

    Here's another strange thing.

When I go to my shozam galleries and open the info file, The picture I removed is still there. When I view the same file from step 5, the picture is not there. So then I have to ask, how come when I generate, it isn't updating the files in my galleries???? More things to check into....

I have this sick feeling in my stomach that I'm going to have to redo the whole site.....thinking back to when I created it, it was trouble. My client requested a custom background, and everytime I would insert the new background into the file, it would create copy after copy of the new background. It was very confusing and frustrating.....

    Thanks,

    Linda

    Linda,

If things get inconsistent, make sure you first generate all files - this should clean out any inconsistencies; in Step 5 uncheck the "generate modified files only" option.

In the Theme Editor youn can control the tiling of the background image. If you are a professional web designer fluent in CSS, you can also edit the CSS files directly outside Shozam. You will find it in My Documents/My Shozam Themes/[CUSTOM THEME NAME]/theme.css

This is an old post, so I assume it has been resolved but just in case someone else is looking over old posts to see who was still around, I'll put in my two cents. I suffered with this dilemma many times and then the next day the corrections would be there. The problem was not the failure to upload. It was the browser just bringing up the old page it had saved before you uploaded. Hit the refresh page button and amazingly the corrected page appears. Just for the record, the old guy didn't die just yet; I'm just really busy house doctoring www.housdoctor.copm and barely have time to do much web updating www.dsdigitals.com . So, before I drop periscope and head back for deep water, Hi Cowboy, Hi Tom. See you when the snows fly. The old guy

Hey old guy. Glad to see you're still around. Appears the snow will be flying around here soon. Looks like we're bypassing fall and going to head straight into winter. To add to your post I've noticed sometimes Firefox won't always refresh a page correctly and will still pull up some things in the cache. Hitting cntrl-F5 will force a server refresh and should fix it in case the refresh button still shows old data.

     Old Guy,

Nice to see you are still kicking in the Land of Lincoln!

You should really try to stop by more often especially considering you were able to bypass the forum profanity filter with the word:

    SNOW

    Cowboy

(Now - Where did I put that SNOW shovel?)

If it ain't broke... fix it until it is!
