    Ted,

Take a look at that Gallery with Firefox and see if there is a problem.

    Larry,

I went ahead and got fire fox although I'm not sure I'll keep it but I saw what you meant. Although itn ran fine under Internet explorer, It wanted a Flash player which I downloaded and everything worked after that. Thanks for the heads up.

I had a poor experience with fire fox in the beginning so I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about. I'll give it a try again...

The issue is proper display of the Quickview mode with Firefox.  I suspect it has problems with an image file is used for the Gallery Banner.

Re: Update to remove All WGW Pro galleries

I believe that makes it a Fire Fox issue Right? When I opened the gallery with fire fox it showed an icon that looked like a puzzle piece When I clicked on that "Fire Fox downloaded the Flash player. I don't know how to fix this for fire fox users. Maybe this is an issue for the "Design Team". Internet Explorer works fine. This is one of the reasons I originally went back to IE after trying it. I'm not particularly a Bill Gates fan but you got to give him credit, he created standardization in the computer world.

Any way thanks, I'll pass this on.

I could not reproduce the problem with a fresh gallery. Can you try with a fresh one and see if the problem persists? Also, try re-generating your gallery using the latest Beta and see if that fixes it in your existing gallery.

    Razvan,

I just regenerated the gallery and get the problem when I use one theme that I modified, but not another.  If you like, I could zip the two theme folders and send them to you so you can dissect them.

Larry, hold off on sending me the themes for now; we are currently working on the final "release version" of the theme pack. We will investigate if the problem happens with those.

However, if you are able to see which specific edit perfomed in the Theme Editor introduces the Firefox artifacts, we may be able to address this earlier.

    No problem...We'll see what happens.

Now...If I had that Theme Customization Report (from the wish list) I could compare could compare a custom theme that works with the custom theme that doesn't -- side-by-side.

    Hmm

    Razvan,

The web gallery identified above was created using the new beta release software. The only time this issue arises is in Fire Fox. I can duplicate it repeatedly in Fire Fox bur unable to do so in Internet Explorer. I do not use Fire Fox and was unaware of the problem until Larry brought it to my attention. I recreated the gallery and get the same results.

    Re: Example of Firefox Problem

Larry, for all the technical details related to the theme, you can take a look at the CSS file:

    C:\Documents and Settings\[User-Name]\My Documents\My Shozam Galleries\[Gallery-Title]\theme\theme.css

The Theme Editor is mainly a WYSIWYG editor for the gallery CSS file. This CSS file controls all look and feel properties for how the HTML displays in the browser. However, we do not support any CSS files editing outside of Shozam! because doing so may make the theme not "Shozam! compliant". In any case, looking at the CSS can give you a good idea of what is going on, particularly when comparing themes.

Re: Example of Fire fox Problem

Ted, try generating the gallery with one of the default (built-in) themes. If it displays well in Firefox, then the issue is that some theme editing you have performed introduces the display anomaly in Firefox. It would be useful if you could tell us which particular edit is the culprit so we can prevent the Theme Editor from performing such edits.

It is always a good idea to test any edits in Internet Explorer and Firefox. Even though IE is still the prevalent browser, many people prefer Firefox. We test all our themes for various platform/browser configurations. However, it is possible that the flexibility provided by the Theme Editor does introduce some quirks, which we will fix as soon as these are identified specifically.

Our site analytics logs show that visitors to our Web site have:

    • 73% - Internet Explorer
    • 22% - Firefox
    • 2.3% - Safari (default Web browser for Apple's Mac computers)
    • 1.6% - Opera

Re: Example of Fire fox Problem

Razvan -  I completely recreated a gallery from scratch with the Puzzle/Blackout theme. I dropped down a size on the text size for the gallery title as there was comment that "an image in the banner"  seemed to be the problem. I thought the problem themes had been created with the latest release but at this point I'm not sure. The one under the button labeled "Fire Fox Testing" is a completely new gallery/theme. This seems to be working OK. I will work on the other two tomorrow.

I was totally unaware that there were "incompatibilities" with Fire Fox and since When I tried in the beginning it was I thought incomplete. However now that I'm aware I will check any themes I create for Fire Fox issues. Will thee be a problem with "Vista" as well?
