Tom Purse:I just finished editing a new gallery and having two problems with it. Everything was working fine until my final edit (adding images, pricing, captions and long descriptions). Now the bottom two thumbnails flash when I put my cursor over them (happens on all pages in Firefox but not in IE) but the last set (approximately 5-6 photos) will not show the long descriptions at all. The rest I put in previously work fine. I've tried generating the gallery with changed files only and generate the whole gallery again several times but the long descriptions still don't show. I've tried entering html instead of using the long description box but that doesn't help either. Anyone have a clue why this might be happening or having a similar problem?
I'm assuming you are talking about the album thumbnails that show in the Intro view?
I'm not sure if this is related, but in the earlier Betas I found that Shozam! will only show a maximum of six album thumbnails/descriptions. In those earlier versions long descriptions caused the gallery middle area to stretch vertically. That wouldn't be much of a problem, but if you had an image file as the background to the flash movie the result was to show ( for example) 1 1/2 frames of that image. When I figured out that adding the 7th album would trigger the "More..." link at the bottom of the album thumbnail stack I started trimming down the album descriptions -- before that I figured that the album thumbnail stack would just keep growing.
To deal with this I now have the album description (I try to keep that short), the picture's caption, and the inserted HTML text. For my sports galleries I include short match information in the album description, info on the specific photo in the caption, and detailed match information in the HTML (carried over the picture). That said, it does get a little cluttered, but my emphasis is more editorial than sales.
