    Shozam business edition

    I purchased Shozam business edition and installed it.  When I try to run the program it acts as if it is the lite edition.  All the features are not available.  What am I doing wrong? I am using windows Vista. I tried to follow the instructions to use the built in Administrator account but have been unable based on the instructions Shozam has sent me. I have a few questions. Do I need to have Shozam Lite installed first before I install the business editin that I purchased?  If not Can some one give me some directions on how to use the built in Administrator accound in windows Vista. When I follow the instructions give by Shozam do no follow what I see in my computer.

    Re: Shozam business edition

    I have the same problem. I used the lite version firt. Uninstall it, bought the business edition and worked fine two days ago. Now, the program is asking me a key and now it works like the lite version. What's wrong? Where do I get that key?

    Re: Shozam business edition

    Hi

    Guys after paying US$199.95 for my Shozam I am quite shocked and dismayed that being an owner of Web Gallery then a Beta tester for Shozam and then finally paying full price for the new version that:

    1.      It is not working with Vista although there is a statement that this was fixed version 1.01.07!

    2.      I sent an email to support over 10 days ago and am yet to hear anything, but conversely my junk filter may have deleted the reply and during my routine inspection of my junk directory I missed the reply.

    Guys please all I would like to know is when will there be a fix.  Please note I have already tried running in administration mode and changed the compatibility mode to WinXP Service Pack 2.

    Thanks

    HI Greg K-C

    Greg Marshall UK here!

     I am a Vista user and have found it to work very well.  The two things to note are:

    1. Loads of memory, I put an extra 2 Gb in my Vista workstation to get it working sensibly (not a requirement for Shozam)

    2. Set the shortcut to Shozam on the desktop to "Run as Administrator" or equivelent.  All permission iussues disapear.

    Hope things get better for you.  I have about 5 galleries loaded on the internet with about 2000 photos.

    biggest is at www.solihullarts.org.uk

    Greg,

    Thank you for your prompt reply, are you using Vista Home Premium?

    Please note the following:

    • I have a brand new HP Pavillion dv9000
    • Vista Home Premium
    • 2gb memory
    • 240gb hd
    • 512 video
    • 3gb virtual Memory

    I have installed Shozam in administrator mode, applied service pack 1.0.1.16 in administrator mode, as well as changing the properties to run the program in administrator mode as well as changing the compatibility mode to WinXP sp2.  So far none of this works.

    Yet so far the splash screen shows and then nothing.

    I agree after being a user of web Gallery Pro and then a beta tester of Shozam /i have been eagerly awaiting to buy the Business version.

    I do appreciate your help, and am thankful you took the time to reply, take care.

    Hi Greg

    I guess this is one for the help desk then.  I did look at the error log files generated by Shozam for my permissions issues (Shozam program directory) but appeared to have got further than yourself.  I have used both XP and Vist Business Edition though I do not know of any reason why the version of Vista should make any difference.

    I think at earlier versions there was a requirement to remove all older versions and then reinstall as there were many updates to program files.  I did do this myself, but cannot give you any better reason for you to do it.  The later versions are not updates but total reinstalls.

    Re: Shozam business edition

    Greg, Antonio from Mexico here. I had problems with Shozam too. What you have to do is to run Shozam making a right click over the Icon of Shozam and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. This is the way it should be opened on vista. Besides, you also have to enter the UNIQUE key that the Shozam team provides you. Have you entered this key? Let me know.

    Antonio,

     Ola!    Thank you for you kind reply, please note the following:

    1. I have installed the file off the original CD sent from Komotion in 'Run as Administrator' mode;
    2. I have installed Shozam_update ver 1.0.1.16 'Run as Administrator' mode;
    3. I have modified the exe files property settings under 'Compatibility' to run in Administrator Mode;
    4. I have modified the exe files property settings under 'Compatibility' to run in WinXP SP2 Mode;
    5. I have uninstalled from my machine and re-installed on both drive C: and Drive D:
    6. As I can not get past the splash screen I don't have the ability to enter my license code but if I remember rightly as the file is directly from Shozam then it is already pre-registered with my license number.

    I do appreciate your reply and thank you for providing your assistance and questions, I am greatful that you took the time.

    Take care,

    Greg K-C

    Re: Shozam business edition

    Greg, it's ok if you modified the exe file properties. Just get into START---ALL PROGRAMS----SHOZAM---SHOZAM making a right click on the last SHOZAM.exe shortcut and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

    As far as my knowledge reaches... modifying the exe file properties won't help. Let me know if you are able to run the program this way. If it does, I'll send you instructions on how to enter the KEY.

     Antonio,

    Sorry I meant to mention that I also changed the shortcut and only modified the exe's when this did not work.

    Thanks again and take care.

    P.S.  On an other note my wife and I are looking at traveling to Mexico at the end of the year for a three week diving holiday to Mexico, Belize and the Panama Canal!

    Re: Shozam business edition

    Great Greg! Let me know which places are you visiting, maybe I can get you nice price for hotels or recommendations or even a free tour!

     Now, please Greg, let's make a clean start ok?

    1. uninstall Shozam
    2. Install Shozam
    3. Make a right click over the Shortcut that runs Shozam and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and see if the program runs (even in light mode).

    I can't take any further with you unless you follow these steps.
