Shozam Community

 I volunteered to do a gallery for my 40th high school reuinion.  Some classmates asked if audio could be added and I told them it could.  Playing with Shozam, I could not get audio to play in the intro using the program's parameters.  I wanted a hidden album but no matter how I played with the settings, the audio would not play.  It was fine if I inserted it into a visible album.

If anyone has got an audio to play in a hidden album, let me know.  I inserted a flash player right into the html but ran into the problem of it resetting every time a new album was chosen.

Wanting audio and not wanting to break the integrity of the gallery, I created a page with all margins set to zero and the gallery set in an iframe:

Below the iframe, I inserted the code for the flash player down far enough not to interfere with the gallery display.  The player also has a rewind function so if someone wants to rewind it a bit, they can.  Also, the mp3 runs 4:27 so it plays across albums.  It is currently set at autoplay but I probably will change that in the code to allow for those with dial-up as well as provide a selection of more songs.  I need to keep it simple because we are all approaching 60 years old.  Classmates will becoming in from another page with instructions ahead of time.

I was a bit concerned about the flash player conflicting with Shozam but apparently there is no problem.  Hopefully, my server can handle the bang.

Shozam does not generate audio for the home page. This feature is planned for a future release; it will play any audio associated with the intro album. This audio will be play only during the intro page. Navigating away from that page will stop the audio (since audio is tied to a specific page). Coming back to the gallery intro page will play the audio from the beginning.

Your implemtation is correct for adding persistent audio that is not dependent of the gallery page that is being viewed. I generally would suggest, for best experience, to not use IFRAME because it requires a predetermined height. Instead, I would implement a FRAMESET consisting of two horizontal frames. A fixed height one at top with your audio player and a variable height frame at the bottom and pointing to the gallery intro page. I would place the player at the top so the controls are visible and easily reached.
