    Album description

Is there a way to format the text in the album description such as line breaks? Or can I insert html code somewhere that will put text into the album description?

Tom, I do not know of a workaround allowing you to insert breaks in the album description or otherwise overwrite general formating by input of raw HTML. Can you elaborate on the need to have such functionality?

    Re: Album description

Actually this request came from a client, who you know. She wanted to put two small paragraphs for her album descriptions. I tried several things but of course nothing worked. So I told her I would post it in the wish list forum. This is something I would also like to be able to do with my own album descriptions. Just hoping the "team" would consider some more elaborate editing options (or possibly being able to put in custom html) in the description in the future.

    Thanks,

    Tom

     Hi Tom,

I've been watching your post and maybe this will help you.  It's not exactly what you had in mind but it will give you the ability to expand and customize album descriptions and details outside of Shozam with the form combo box embedded into the gallery wherever you can stick html.  The form gives you the ability to import web pages, images or documents into an iframe or open them in a new window.  Also, you don't need to put anything into the head of the page to use it.

I've used it for awhile to archive newsletters for the USO of Northern Ohio.  They send me the newsletter in Word, I convert it to a .pdf and pop it on their site.

I added an example in this gallery - Warriors of the Desert.  The combo box is at the bottom of the gallery.  The colors and font of the box were changed to match the theme.

Don't expect a fancy album description because it really doesn't matter for this gallery because I just created it to design the theme.  You'll get the idea what you can do by looking at the converted Word document.  Actually, I used the same document for each choice because I'm lazy and didn't want to spend a lot of time making something fancy.

The code I used can be found at Dynamic Drive.  I changed the script to stop the selection from opening right away. I used the open in new window setting.

If it ain't broke... fix it until it is!

     Hi Cowboy,

Thanks, this is not exactly what we are looking to do but it is definitely something I can use in the future. I will have my client take a look at your examples and see if it is something she'd like to do with her gallery.
