Nigel,
For now what could help is to direct visitors to the "Index" page, where they can see at a glance not only the albums but all images. Also, you could customize the "More" labels to something more meaningful or "eye-catching" for your visitors. You can customize all labels on the Label tab in Step 5 of Shozam.
Running a scrollbar in the middle of the page was dropped when we moved from Web Gallery Wizard (our old product) to Shozam because of a number of drawbacks:
Scrollbars can look unsightly and out of context from the gallery theme. Internet Explorer offers ways to customize the look of the scrollbar but unfortunately this is not supported by other browsers. Years ago, when IE was almost exclusively used, that was OK. Now we have to be as good displaying in several browsers.
Another issue is to have a scrollbar just for the album listing section of the page means implementing that region as an HTML IFRAME and frames have inherent drawbacks so are usually not used any longer in modern Web site design.
We could just extend the whole page, rather than just the album list section, where the scrollbar would appear at the far right of the page and as such would not really conflict with the aesthetics of the page design. The single negative impact would be the appearance of a void between the intro animation and the bottom bar of the gallery. Given the additional functionality gain, this may be an acceptable trade-off.
I would be interested in what you (and other users) think about such a trade-off...
