Shozam Community

I just downloaded the beta a few minutes ago, I have been using your and other gallery software for years.

I have a dual core Vista system, with 4 gigs of ram.  

When I build a gallery, the program crashes.

 

 

 

I have been told that Shozam is not yet vista compatible. I get the same results when i attempte to generate with Vista. I don't know why they would build this software and not have it compatible with the latest OS, maybe because they starting building it before the release of Vista. But it is discouraging, I have to dual boot xp and vista just so i can use Shozam. If it isn't vista compatible soon i will be looking for different gallery builders soon. maybe GIAB

I tested it on windows Millenium Edition and Its working ok.Just a note for the folks with older systems..Seems to work on mine fine :-)

I use Win XP and have had several of the shozam beta versions crash. I don't use Vista so I don't know if this might help but what I found out about the crashes was this. I use different software to upload my galleries to my server rather than having shozam do it. I found out that if any other program (ie WSFTPro, windows explorer, Thumbsplus or any other program including my web browser open accessing the gallery folder) it would cause shozam to crash. If I have no other programs accessing that folder I have absolutely no problems creating the galleries. Hope this might be of some help

Shozam! is supposed to be Vista compatible and it is working on the Vista compuer in our labs. However, I am aware of several reports of crashing. For all such issues, please submit a Support Ticket to http://helpdesk.shozam.com/Customer/SubmitTicket.aspx. Please provide as much information as possible regarding your system configuration and any errors that are being displayed. Our development team will take a look into it and make sure these get fixed. Thank you in advance for your assistance on this issue.

 I have a laptop that came preinstalled with Vista Home Premium.  It is a Gateway Tablet Laptop.  Got it in March of 07.

 Tried the demo version.  My user account type is admin.  I still told it to install using the "as admin" option then tried running it using the "as admin" option.  Still get the crash.  Here's what the crash dialog reports....

Hi Burl,  I have Vista also. Download the 1.1.0.20 version in downloads and then run as administrator and you should be fine.

Thanks John.  Unfortunately, I do not see a "downloads" page on the Shozam website.  I have not purchased the product as yet so I only have access to the trial download.  Since I prefer to try before I buy, I guess I am out of luck at this time.
