    Introduction audio file

I have a newly created gallery with a hidden intro album in it. I'm looking for a way to have an audio file play during the intro (the theme intro) without modify the animation file (swf). Anyone figured out a way to do it? Or does anyone know how to embed an audio file into the htm file so it will play when the gallery loads?

     Thanks

     Tom,

Here are couple of links for you to look at.

This one is the standard embed command:

    Embed Audio or Video

Embed Flash with an Odeo player:

    Flash

I'm not sure the Flash one would work because the intro is flash but I seem to remember trying it and it worked.

I think I used the html tab for the Flash player.  I have put counters in the bottom tab and they show on hidden albums so you may be able to just use the standard embed.

Otherwise, you would need to edit your index.htm page to fit the code in.

Regardless, if you have a lot of albums in the gallery, each time someone comes back to the intro for navigation, the audio file would play. That could annoy people.  Myself, I keep my speakers off because I hate arriving at a site and have music playing or video with sound starting automatically.

    Tom,

These might help you.  I used one of my galleries that used a hidden album for the intro and added a MP3 using the HTML tab for below gallery. Both examples use the Flash example and were modified for Auto Start.

This one used the Odeo player resized to 200px and 35px with the color black:

    USO of Northern Ohio

On this page, I resized the Odeo player to 1px and 1px thus making it virtually invisible.  You can't use zero px or it won't work.

    Hide Player Controls

They both work in IE7 and Firefox 2. Just look at the source code.

Forgot to add a line that this was an example of using the HTML Tab and will play across all albums.

Need to put the code into your index.htm page directly.

     Tom,

I think there may be a solution to just using the Flash embed as long as you don't change your index.htm page often.

Need to play with the generate part of Shozam and whack it to get what I want it to do but I never have been afraid of taking something on.

Hang tight but I think I can come up with something you can use.

Sometimes, the solution just stares at you and you have your sunglasses on and get blinded.

    Re: Introduction audio file

     Tom,

I threatened Shozam with my .357 Sig and he willfully gave up.

    Here is what I did:

    1. I used the above page HTML tab and inserted the invisible Odeo code.  That will allow the MP3 to start right away.

    2. Generated the gallery and uploaded it using WS_FTP Pro.

    3. Viewed source of index.htm, copied it to Notepad and saved it.

    4. Went back and removed the Odeo code from the gallery then generated it.

    5. Opened the index.htm page in my folder and replaced the source code with my saved Notepad code.

    6. Uploaded it and the MP3 will only run on the Intro page.

The gallery only has one album but it will work with multiple albums.

    Re: Introduction audio file

I sometimes get lucky when threats are used.

Glad to be able to help you out.

You notice that when you run the Slideshow from the Intro that it will cycle through all your albums?

Bury a long MP3 in the Intro, loop it and instruct visitors to use the Slideshow link on the Intro page to listen to the music while cruising the albums.  That way, no need to add MP3's to the slideshows in albums.

I sort of did that for my class reunion but I gave them a bridge page with choices of songs to choose from and opened the gallery in a new window. The MP3's weren't in the gallery and the Odeo control was visible so they could pause or replay.

Whacked my bandwidth especially because one of the choices was "It was a very good year" by you know who. Ran for a bit over 4 minutes.
